HONG KONG - 10th July 2007, Hong Kong, China: One week and counting before tickets go on public sales for the Mission Hills Cup featuring star-studded FC Barcelona and a Mission Hills Invitation Select XI.
Jointly organised by Kitchee and Happy Valley, tickets for the Mission Hills Cup are to go on sale at 9am sharp on the 17th July (Tuesday) for the summer's best pre-season warm up with ticketing booths located at the Hong Kong Stadium.
"Requested by the Hong Kong Football Association, the Hong Kong Stadium will now move the public sales to next Tuesday instead of the original 14th July date," said Mr Ken Ng, President of Kitchee (Sports Management) Ltd.
"This arrangement will allow the fan wanting to buy tickets for the Barca match to wait inside the stadium in case of need, given the unusually erratic weather conditions and to avoid causing any hardship to the fans."
The match will serve as Barcelona's perfect tune up as they gather to showcase their latest signings and take on the combined strength of Kitchee and Happy Valley representing the Mission Hills Invitation Select XI, who will use the game to prepare for the new Hong Kong league campaign.
Long queues are anticipated if recent trends of public ticket sales are to go by, yet fans are reminded to come to the Stadium as early as possible to ensure they are able to book the best seats in the house.
With the likes of Portuguese international Deco, Brazilian star Ronaldinho, Cameroonian striker Eto'o, Barca are bringing over their best line-up to weave their talent here against the home team.
"We have not yet received the touring list," said Mr Matthew Koon, Chief Executive of Happy Valley. "We have communicated with Barca and they have reaffirmed that they are bringing to Asia their strongest squad and to us, that may include Henry and more new signings."
The Mission Hills Cup will be held at the Hong Kong Stadium on 10th August 2007 with the kick-off time at 8pm. Tickets are priced at HKD1,200, HKD980, HKD680, HKD380 and HKD180 for Students and Senior Citizens. Each person is entitled to buy four tickets.
