Javier Pastore couldn't help but express his joy of making it back into the Argentina National Team.
The PSG midfielder was one of the many surprise names called up for Argentina's tour of Asia in October. He last played for Argentina in the World Cup Qualifying match in 2011.
"I honestly did not expect the call-up from Martino." He admitted "Although I completely understood my exclusion from Sabella's squad, because my style of play had no place in Sabella's plans."
About his hopes of making it to the 2018 World Cup squad in Russia now that he's in the squad for the Asian tour: "My goal now is to go and try to impress the new coach and show him the level that I am right now. Besides, Martino's tactic is well-suited for a playmaker like me. Also I play in a similar 4-3-3 formation with PSG at the moment."
Difference between the last time he wore the Albiceleste shirt and now: "It's been three years, I've grown a lot as a player. To be in the National Team is what every football player always wants."
Pastore will be joining his Argentina team mates including Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Javier Mascherano, Gonzalo Higuain, Angel Di Maria, Marcos Rojo, Paolo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis and etc to play against the Hong Kong Representative Team at the Hong Kong Stadium on October 14.
