PHILIPPINES - Two former international football stars will arrive in the country to join brothers Phil and James Younghusband in the second edition of the CLEAR Dream Match in August.
Chelsea FC legend Dennis Wise and former Real Madrid star Fabio Cannavaro will lead a series of football clinics apart from participating in the annual all-star match slated on August 24.
During the event launch on Wednesday at The Fort in Taguig, the two football greats expressed their excitement about coming to the Philippines in taped interviews.
“I’m excited to play with the Younghusbands and the rest of the Philippine football stars,” Cannavaro said.
Cannavaro, who was known as the “Berlin Wall” for his stellar play as a defender, captained Italy in its 2006 FIFA World Cup championship and bagged the World Player of the Year trophy that same year.
Wise and Cannavaro will arrive in the Philippines on August 21 and will conduct a football clinic for children two days after.
Fans can vote online for 30 players from the United Football League and different schools to form a pool, from which Phil and James will draft for their respective squads. The squad of Wise and Cannavaro, as well as the match’s venue, has yet to be determined.
Proceeds from the match will go to the Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation.
ProEvents is pleased to secure Fabio Cannavaro for Clear Dream Match Campaign.
