HONG KONG - The Premier League and HKFA are reminding football fans in Hong Kong that the Wednesday night of the Barclays Asia Trophy is not yet sold out, and that 5,000 tickets remain available for purchase.
The tickets are all available in the most affordable price categories of HK$300 and HK$250. For this fans will see two matches on Wednesday night as Tottenham Hotspur play against Sunderland and local champions South China take on the mighty Manchester City.
Tickets will be available from Cityline until midnight on the Monday 22 July. If after that any remain then they can be purchased from the Hong Kong Stadium ticket office.
Richard Masters, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Premier League said: "It's fantastic that that 75,000 of 80,000 seats for the Barclays Asia Trophy have been sold. But we have had instances of fans asking about ticket returns for the tournament thinking it was sold out. But we still have 5,000 tickets available for the Wednesday night and we'd love to see Hong Kong Stadium full and for there to be the noisiest atmosphere possible.
"We have three terrific Barclays Premier League sides coming over. In addition to the likes of world-class stars like Gareth Bale and Sergio Aguero, the clubs have made some impressive signings in the last week and we hope these players will be making their debut in the Barclays Asia Trophy on Wednesday."
The Premier League is pulling out all the stops to ensure that Hong Kong football fans see these latest signings by the clubs.
Manchester City are on the verge of capturing Alvaro Negredo from Seville and Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina. The Premier League will do all it can to ensure that any signing that takes place over the weekend will be clear to play in the Hong Kong Stadium on Wednesday. The Premier League has already done this with new Sunderland and Italian international midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini.
