KUMHO TIRES' CUP - Manchester United Korea Tour 2009

KOREA - Manchester United, the number one football club on in the world, also proves to be number one in terms of ticket box office sales in Korea.

Tickets for the eagerly anticipated KUMHO TIRES' CUP - Manchester United Korea Tour 2009 were released for public sale earlier this morning via Interpark. All 40,000 tickets available were completely sold out within 10 hours.

According to an official from the online ticket reservation company Interpark, more than 20,000 tickets were snapped up within the first hour alone. All 4 categories of tickets were eventually sold out by 10pm in the evening.

From the profile of the ticket buyers collected, 70% of the tickets buyers are in their twenties and thirties. However the most interesting information to note is that 40% of the ticket buyers today are actually female. This shows the popularity of the game is not only limited to a young male demographic but the number of female fans in Korea is increasing rapidly.

Mr Yong Kim, CEO of Mast Entertainment said "Even after the tickets have sold out we continue to receive enquiry calls regarding possible tickets. I am amazed at the enthusiastic support fans are showing for Man Utd and Ji-Sung Park. For fans that were not able to buy tickets there is still a possibility that certain ticket holders will cancel their tickets, if so the open tickets will be back on the website even in small quantities. Please continue to check the website. I believe that the match will turn out to be one of the most memorable football experiences for many football fans in Korea. Mast Ent. would like to express our deepest appreciation to all the Korean fans of the club for their big support to our event."

Mr Paul J Kam, chairman of ProEvents Management – the exclusive organiser of the tour added "We were confident from the start that tickets to the event will be sold out like the last tour in 2007 but we didn't expect to be this quick. This is the result of the club's continuous effort in engaging all their fans in Asia".
