MALAYSIA - Proof, if any was ever needed, of Liverpool’s popularity in Malaysia was in evidence tonight when the team trained in front of a crowd most Premier League clubs could only ever dream of attracting to a first team game.
37,800 fans descended upon the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur for Liverpool's first ever training session on Malaysian soil. The team didn't arrive into the country until six o'clock this morning but despite the travelling, the lack of sleep and the heat inside the stadium, they still managed to put on a great two-hour show for the local fans.
With Liverpool FC mania in Malaysia now in full swing, tonight's session was the perfect appetiser for the main event on Saturday night when the Reds will take on a Malaysian XI in front of an expected 80,000 fans.
