ChelseaFC Soccer School launches in Hong Kong

ProEvents, the Asia leading football promoter, is delighted to announce the launch of the first Chelsea Soccer School in Asia and in Hong Kong.

At the press conference earlier today, the English Premier League Club unveiled the ChelseaFC Soccer School (Hong Kong) - an exciting new initiative that will deliver a long term and unique football coaching programme for boys and girls aged 5 to 17 years old. Children and youth in Hong Kong are set to benefit from the coaching provided by Chelsea FC coaches as well as legendary former player Mr Leslie Santos who is currently an Ambassador for the Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games.

Mr Ron Gourlay, Chief Executive of Chelsea FC commented "After months of planning it is fantastic to see this exciting project come to fruition. Chelsea Soccer School in Hong Kong will be the perfect venue for Chelsea's experienced coaches to run training sessions, and for young people to train the way Chelsea's players do. I am confident that a legacy will be left here for years to come."

Chelsea FC's Head of Marketing, Mr Ben Wells, said "It is an honour to be here for the launch of Asia's first Chelsea Soccer School. The team here in Hong Kong worked hard to deliver a fantastic facility and I look forward to seeing it adding to players' enjoyment of football."

Chelsea and England national John Terry said "I was delighted to hear about the Chelsea Soccer School in Hong Kong. Not only will this be used for vital charity work in the region, it offers the opportunity for young people to develop their skills and discipline on the pitch."

"ProEvents is delighted to be part of this milestone development project and we are confident that this programme will replicate the same success it has back in the UK" commented Paul Kam, Chairman of ProEvents Group.

Mr Leslie Santos, Technical Director of ChelseaFC Soccer School (Hong Kong) added: "Having operated Santos Soccer School for the past four years, I always have the faith and belief that I could build up Santos Soccer School and develop it further. The opportunity arose during my discussion with Chelsea FC as we exchanged various football development objectives for Hong Kong. As a result of these fruitful discussions and having travelled London to meet with the Club, we are delighted that we have earned the trust of the Club and their agreement to launch this ever first long term Chelsea Soccer School in Hong Kong. In fact, I believe this is the first in Asia. It is a proud day for me and all my colleagues who have worked so hard to achieve this."

The coaching programme consists of 4 sessions, each lasting 1 hour 30 minutes. Boys and girls aged from 5 to 17 years old. For course information and booking, please visit www.chelseafc.com/hksoccerschool or call hotline 852 2368 5232.
