Manchester United Asia Tour 2009 ¡V Hangzhou, China

Hangzhou, China ¡V The Chinese football community are excited with the visit of Manchester United coming to Hangzhou for a friendly match against Greentown FC at the Zhejiang Dragon Stadium at 8pm on 26 July 2009.

Speaking at the announcement press conference, the Vice Director General of Sports Bureau of Zhejiang Province, Mr Ying Zu Ming said "Through this international friendly match, we hope to improve the standard of football in general and at the same time giving the industry with much encouragement to football development in Zhejiang Province. And also, through this event, we hope to strengthen our position to show the world that Zhejiang is capable in organising major sports events in China."

The Vice-president & General Secretary of Zhejiang Football Association Mr. Wang Zhi Hai added "ProEvents Overseas Ltd is the sole and exclusive tour promoter of the Manchester United Asia Tour 2009. The match in China is organised by Sports Bureau of Zhejiang Province, and co-organised by Zhejiang Football Association and Zhejiang Dragon Sports Centre with the support from Kaki Sports Development Co Ltd, Hangzhou Yuangchuangyuan Advertising Co Ltd (Zhejiang Sports Media) and Zhejiang Century Mien Culture Diffuse Co Ltd. Under the direction of The Organising Committee, we will be doing our best to ensure the match is the most successful event this summer."

According to Manchester United Chief Executive David Gill in a press statement, he said: "We are delighted to be coming back to Asia for our summer tour. The passion and excitement of the games has to be experienced to be believed. The tour is great preparation for the new season, a chance to engage with our commercial partners and for us to meet the local communities through our work with the MU Foundation."

The Chairman of ProEvents, Mr. Paul Kam, said "The Club is widely popular throughout the world and especially in China where it has a tremendous fan base. We are delighted for the club¡¦s decision to bring the team to China again and I am sure that many football fans, not only those in Hangzhou but everyone from nearby cities such as in Shanghai, Nanjing and Ningbo will welcome this great opportunity to see The World Champions in action here."

Mr Lin Le Feng, General Manager of Hangzhou Greentown Football Club said "Although Greentown is not one of the top teams in the Chinese Super League, however, all staff and players are pleased to have such an opportunity to play against the World Champions. Through this friendly encounter, we believe we could learn from this match and go on to become a better team."

Ticket prices are set at: RMB 100, RMB 300, RMB 600 (RMB 1000 for 2 pcs), RMB 900, RMB 1,200 (RMB 2000 for 2 pcs) and RMB 1,600.
